Coolangatta is a popular family holiday spot with a wide range of beachfront accommodation. Local attractions are geared towards the family.
Just around the corner is Snapper Rocks, where due to the new Tweed Heads sand by-pass, a lot of new sand has created an almost perfect break (think Arugam Bay without the Tigers) with beautifully shaped waves to be had on most days when there is a swell and a southerly (offshore) wind. And these are long waves where on a good day you can ride the same wave for over a thousand meters or get a 10 second barrel.....it doesn't get much better anywhere. |
